PROJECTS – PRESCHOOL
PEDAGOGY PROJECTS
Pedagogy Projects emerged in the past century with the American John Dewey. This educator based himself on the concept that "education is a lifelong process and not a preparation for future life". It emphasizes that the school must represent practical life, present in everyday life.
Learn significantly is to learn through experience, from what's real and what is interesting.
This line of education is based on choice of major themes and is worked within the context of research projects. These themes are of interest to the group and place students as agents of their research. They are the authors of knowledge. With this, the planning, information gathering, discussions with colleagues and project completion stages are run by the children; the teacher is a more experienced partner that provides tools to conquer these challenges.
The project is interdisciplinary, in other words, all fields of knowledge are embedded in the project and are worked at the same time. There is no division of subjects, or segmentation of contents, which makes learning enjoyable and meaningful.
